The KO card counting strategy is one of the most popular and used card counting strategies for blackjack players. If you’re new to blackjack then this might be the most beneficial system to use because it is known to be easier then other systems. The KO card counting system is also known as the knockout card counting system and it involves using an unbalanced count. An unbalanced card counting system simply means that if you were to count through the entire deck you wouldn’t end up with the total of zero at the end of the deck. If you were to count through an entire deck using the KO counting strategy then you would end up with a positive 4 at the end.
With the KO card counting system you’re only going to be using -1, +1 and 0 for your count so it shouldn’t be that hard to keep count although you will need to pay close attention to the table. One of the biggest reasons why people have trouble counting cards is because they often either miss cards completely or they miss counting cards and therefore they don’t have the correct count. If you can manage to focus and concentrate while you’re playing blackjack then you will typically be able to keep a correct count and therefore typically win money.
In order to make the KO card counting strategy work you’re going to need to learn the value of each card so that you don’t get the wrong count. You’ll need to memorize the values of each card or else the system isn’t going to work at all for you. The following are the values of each card in the deck.
• 2’s, 3’s, 4’s, 5’s, 6’s and 7’s = +1
• 8’s and 9’s = 0
• 10’s, J’s, Q’s, K’s and Aces = -1
In order to make card counting successful you need to learn how to count the cards quickly. I wouldn’t worry about to much at first when you’re starting out because you’re obviously not going to be a pro card counter right away. Once you spend some time practicing how to count cards though, you should be able to typically count down a deck of cards in roughly thirty seconds. This seems like a very small amount of time, but it really isn’t once you get the hand of counting cards. When a blackjack game is moving quickly you’re not always going to have a lot of time to count the cards so you need to be able to do it very quickly.
The KO card counting strategy for blackjack is simple which is why it’s ideal for casual blackjack players and new blackjack players, but if you’re a more serious player then there are better counting systems to use. The KO card counting system isn’t the most accurate card counting strategy to use, but due to it’s simplicity it’s suggested all new players use it and master it before trying out the other systems.
